TrainingSplits is operated by Jack Greenwood ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We take your privacy seriously and will only use your data in ways described here.
What data we collect
When you use TrainingSplits, we may collect the following types of personal data:
- Account information - your name and email address, collected when you sign up via Clerk
- Training data - your training sessions, paces, distances, session logs, and block progress
- Race goals - your target race, goal time, and race date
- Pace zones - your personal pace and heart rate zones
- Usage data - which sessions you mark as complete and when
- Payment data - if you subscribe via Stripe, payment data is processed directly by Stripe and we do not store your card details
Why we collect it
We collect your data to provide you with a personalised running coaching service. Specifically:
- To deliver your training plan on the platform and app
- To track your session compliance and progress through a training block
- To allow your coach to review your progress and adapt your plan
- To calculate statistics such as weekly volume, compliance percentage, and streaks
- To process your subscription payment via Stripe
- To contact you about your coaching, plan updates, or account
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- Contract - processing is necessary to deliver the coaching service you have subscribed to
- Legitimate interests - improving the service and communicating with you about your training
- Consent - where you have explicitly opted in to any additional communications
How we store your data
Your data is stored securely using the following services:
- Supabase - a secure PostgreSQL database hosted in the EU, used to store your athlete profile, training sessions, and logs
- Clerk - a secure authentication provider that manages your login credentials and account
- Stripe - a PCI-compliant payment processor that handles subscription billing
All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not store payment card details at any point.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with the third-party service providers listed above (Supabase, Clerk, Stripe) strictly to deliver the service. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the service. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Training data (sessions, logs, blocks) may be retained in anonymised form for service improvement purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access - you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification - you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure - you can ask us to delete your data
- Right to restriction - you can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to portability - you can ask us to provide your data in a portable format
- Right to object - you can object to processing based on legitimate interests

Cookies
TrainingSplits uses minimal cookies. Authentication cookies are set by Clerk to maintain your logged-in session. These are strictly necessary for the service to function and do not require consent. We do not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
